Somerset Mind:
an introduction to the project
Somerset Mind is a collaboration between the three Local Mind
Associations (LMAs) in Somerset.
Each of these is an independent charity with its own geographical
boundary. Historically each LMA has worked very much within its own
area but all have now recognised that to ensure the best service to
all users, the future is in collaborative working.
The Somerset Mind Project is working to find the best way forward
for the three LMAs to ensure they are in a strong position to tender
for and deliver county-wide mental health services. The project has
the backing of the Boards of all the LMAs and is also supported by
the statutory providers in the county. Those health and social care
providers are re-evaluating the way in which mental health services
are managed and see an increasing role for the voluntary sector
working in partnership.
This website will act as an information portal, to provide anyone
with an interest in the Mind service in Somerset with a link through
to all three LMAs web pages and additionally offer an update and
opportunity to comment on the Somerset Mind Project as a whole. |
